CKI has ad-hoc committee positions available – Circle K International is looking for some dedicated members to be a part of their ad-hoc committees. Committee positions available are: Corporate Sponsorship, Internship, and Scholarship Ad-hoc Committee; Membership Affordability; International Expansion; Blood Drive. The following is from an e-mail message that Ricardo Torres, International Vice-President, had sent out over the Business Reflector. Below you will find the applications for the 2008-2009 CKI International Ad-Hoc Committees. If you have questions regarding the application process, structure or committees - please contact Vice-President Ricardo Torres or President Kristen Reed.
INTERESTED? Interested members are strongly encouraged to apply. To be considered, members must be dues paid and from a club in good standing. Please note deadlines, as they will be strictly enforced. Applications are due by Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:59pm EST (10:59pm CST, 09:59pm MST, and 08:59pm PST). Late applications will not be considered.
Members may apply for more than one ad-hoc committee; however they will only be selected to serve on one. All applicants will be notified that they're application was successfully submitted within 24 hours of submission. Depending on the quantity of applicants there may be a phone interview process. All ad-hoc committee member appointments will be announced over the business reflector on October 18, 2008. Selected applicants will receive a phone call from either President Kristen or Vice-President Ricardo with details on their assignments.
Applications must be sent to both Ricardo Torres and President Kristen Reed. For logistical purchases, please clearly note in the subject of your email the name of the committee you are applying for.
Corporate Sponsorship, Internship, and Scholarship Ad-hoc Committee
International Liaison: President Kristen Reed
Purpose: To market CKI to outside organizations to seek more corporate benefits and discount opportunities. In addition, the committee will research the feasibility of establishing a Kiwanis Internship Database and will seek businesses and individuals to generously give to expand our CKI scholarship programs.
Membership Affordability
International Liaison: Representative Eric Hotchkiss
Purpose: To work on furthering the efforts of past Finance ad-hoc committees in dissecting the CKI Budgets and making suggestions to further lower operational expenses at the International level. The committee will also research and tabulate the true cost of membership in CKI and develop feasible ways to ensure the intangible expenses of membership are reduced. Furthermore, at the request of districts or clubs, the committee will also offer its services by evaluating budgets and preparing suggestions for changes to lower all variable expenses.
International Expansion
International Liaison: Vice-President Ricardo Torres
Purpose: To promote, plan, and translate a large majority of the most important Circle K International documents, in order to support the large number of non-English speaking people who are members in Circle K International and help our organization expand to more nations around the world.
Blood Drive
International Liaison: Tracy Meyer
Purpose: to provide International Convention attendees an opportunity to give the gift of life by planning, organizing, and executing the Circle K International Blood Drive at the 2009 International Convention in Birmingham, Alabama.
